According to the Financial Times, Google has achieved what is called Quantum Supremacy. In a paper initial uploaded to the NASA website (that later was taken down, but can be found here), Google claims to have been able to create a quantum processor that does computations that cannot be performed on any conventional computer, including the world's best supercomputer.
